How to set goals

I’ve shared a lot from Haley and her Endorphitness blog, but I really like this post about setting goals because it is relevant to so many different situations. Haley talks about setting attainable goals as well as long-term goals, and the key, she says, is having a plan for the goal.

Here are the six steps she includes for reaching your goal, and I think they are six steps anyone can apply to their own goals:

  1. Create a specific goal
  2. Set a time frame for your goal
  3. Write it down
  4. Create a plan — how will you attack this thing?
  5. Set your price — what are you willing to spend, give up, or put aside for your goal?
  6. Think about it, visualize it, and make it known!
